What is a Partnership?
A Partnership is defined as a business arrangement between two or more individuals and/or corporations who share the profits and liabilities of the business.
You may operate a partnership under your own legal names or your name plus some descriptive word(s) or a completely unqiue business name. If you use any business name that is different from your legal names, you must register this business name with the government.
If your business operates under your legal names “Michael Smith and John MacDonald”, you do not have to register, however you may realize several advantages if you do register. If you operate your business under the name “MS and JM Consultants” you must register the business name.
